Beautiful sites, rich history, and good people |
Versailles is the county seat of Ripley County in the southeastern corner of Indiana. The town was founded in 1818, the same year as the county. As of the 2010 census the population was 2,113 residents. The town is fortunate to have Jim Tyson, an early investor in Walgreens Drug Company, as a benefactor. During his lifetime he had a number of beautiful buildings constructed in town that are now on the National Historic Register. The Tyson Fund continues to benefit the town to this day.
